EMSL Run another Successful BASU Umpire Course

EMSL have completed the annual two-day BASU Umpires course, 17 delegates attended the event with 14 passing the course.

The course, which was held at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Services HQ at Bestwood lodge, was a mixture of presentations, practical demonstrations, drills practical assessment and finally a test paper. It was a tough couple of days for the crew.

The course instructor Mike Jennings reported that the standard on the course was generally good with some good prospects for some individuals to seek full BASU accreditation.

The EMSL have 11 fully qualified Umpires adding to the league list plus two who achieved Field Umpire status.

Mike Jennings gave an award for Best Umpire on the course to Hayley Slatford of the Royals.
