Labor Day
The ‘Labor Day’ Tournament, which traditionally was held on the Sunday prior to America’s Labor Day holiday (the first Monday in September), is now played in July to fit in with tournament schedules in the UK.
In 2010 we moved this one-day tournament to Leicester and opened it up to more teams. This was so successful that in 2011 it become a two-day tournament for 20 teams (split between C & D grade) and in 2012 it got even bigger and better, with 24 teams entering, and continues to grow.
Accommodation is available Friday to Monday in the Univerity of Leicester Halls of Residence, at £18 per person per night for shared bathroom facilities or £24 ensuite. Familes are welcome and the university will accommodate children if informed in advance. No camping is available at the ground. More information is available here: shop.le.ac.uk
The tournament fee is £200 per team for two full days and the chance to buy equipment from The Softball Shop. The tournament usually fills up quickly so be sure to get your application in as early as possible.
